When I'm rewriting my screenplay, I want to know where the script needs help, and I want solutions. I want something constructive to consider, an assessment of where my own script is getting in the way of the story I'm compelled to tell.

When a screenwriter asks me for help with their screenplay, I assume you wrote the script with an objective of it being produced into a movie. In my notes and phone consultation, I will provide criticism and suggestions to support your passion behind that goal, examining the elements of story, character, structure, dialogue, pace, tone, arc and theme.

While validating the functional and wonderful elements of your screenplay is quite valuable to the process of any screenwriter, including myself, my analysis and feedback will focus on where I feel the screenplay needs work.

You aren't hiring me for excessive praise. You're hiring me to support and nurture the development of your script and your screenwriting.

In the end, my work as a screenplay consultant begins and ends in providing creative, original solutions to inspire a rich, advancing rewrite, taking the screenplay and screenwriter to a more rewarding place.

I sincerely believe in this process of helping writers, to pass on what I've learned, and perhaps inspire them, and in turn, myself.
